We are starting an individual novel study this term.  Students have been given information sheets already.  It will be due on Monday, June 3rd.  By the end of next week, I would like all students to have chosen a book to read.  They need to bring their book to school so that I may see it and approve it.  Some students have already done this but I would like everyone to have a book by Friday, April 12th.

This term, the students will be doing Current Events Presentations.  I will pick 4 students a week and each of those students will pick a newspaper article, (this can be found online as long as I get a paper copy or a USB with the article on it).  The students will answer questions about the article and then present their article to the class on Thursdays.

Hello, and welcome back to school!  I hope everyone enjoyed their breaks.  We will be continuing spelling this term, but it will be a different process.  I will assign 12 words every Monday.  Each student is to write a definition for each word, use each word in a sentence, and divide the word into syllables.  This part of the assignment will usually be due on Wednesdays, (Thursday for this week).  On Friday there will be a test on those 12 words, but just of the spelling.
